The winner of last week’s giveaway Coming Up Short is One Frugal Girl. And I’m reviewing, giving away this week Depression Economics. Leave a comment for a chance to win. Also I wrote a guest post for Simply Forties called “the loose budget“. Head on over to check it out. I was also mentioned on the MSN Smart Spending Blog talking about Family Money. These are some of the carnivals I participated in.
- 162nd Festival of Frugality
- 94th Carnival of Money Stories
- 21st Bankruptcy and Debt Carnival
- 1-26-09 Twenty Something Finances Carnival
- Frugalista Edition of the Money Hacks Carnivals
- 29th Rich Life Carnival
- Millionaire Mind Carnival 5th Edition
- 4th Carnival of Saving Money
These are some posts I found cool.
- J. Money at Budgets are crazy listed people’s wierdest jobs ever. I was the Cutco Knife salesman.
- Jim at Blueprint for Finances gives us a Life Lock Review. I’ve been really curious about them since I always see the ad on tv.
- Common Cents Approach says “Paying off your mortgage is a no-brainer“. I would say it’s only a no brainer if you are saving $16.5k into a 401k and $5k into an IRA first, and have a diversified net worth of more than home equity.
- My Frugal Front Porch gives us tips on “How to save while grocery shopping.” I’m always looking for tips to keep my groceries down.
- Big Cajun Man talks about “Sometimes it’s better to be lucky.” I agree 100%.
- Out of Debt Christian says “Be a better bargainer“. Americans are terrible bargainer compared to the rest of the world because we don’t do it in stores. Personally I like it that way. Bargaining in stores I think would be very disruptive. But I’m not above asking for a discount politely!
Have a great weekend!
