A very cool article by MP Dunleavy talks about people getting serious about getting out of debt. They are putting their debt as she put it, on a “Diet”. The articles starts out talking about a woman who got out of debt before but then fell back into debt. So how’d she do it?
Sherry Matulock hit rock bottom. She couldn’t afford her credit card minimums. They had escalated far and beyond what she expected. But she got out by joining MP Dunleavy’s great message board Women in Red. It’s a board where average women talk about their debts, share tips, keep each other accountable, and cheer each other on. It really makes a huge difference for many people.
By joining the board, being motivated and helped along she paid off $15k in credit card debt in 1 years! What an accomplishment. She credits the support of women on the board. Matulock got further help from Jean Chatzy. She now tracks all her spending and squeezes every penny towards debt. But finding the balance between life and debt is hard.
But I just thought I’d share an article of inspiration about debt payoff. Also I hope those looking for help check out the Women In Red message board, a great place to get inspiration, help, and accountability!

Thanks for the link to the article. I can’t imagine going back into debt after everything is finally paid. It really is important not to just pay off the debt but to also understand what caused it.
