He's not really a spendthrift, in fact is quite frugal with most things. But he's like the Absent Minded Professor when it comes to keeping track of our finances. Sometimes I get frustrated, because I think he's ignoring money stuff on purpose so he won't have to pay attention to what's going on. Then again, I'm sure he feels the same way about me and politics at times. Except if I was in a car wreck and died tomorrow he'd be very lost with regards to our money situation. I do have everything in an Excel spreadsheet, but he hates computers so wouldn't have the first clue of what to do. Our youngest son (18) would have to take over, probably. Creepy! When I hear those people working so hard on those budgets and envelopes and such on Dave Ramsey, I know that would never work for us. I have to do all the bills and know what's going on.
