Okay got a $5 off coupon to Walgreens through email good for Friday 8/22 and Saturday 8/23. I called Customer Service and they said I was welcome to send it off to friends. I figured my readers are friends sort of, well I am more honest than in real life right? So here is it..enjoy!
Now on to my Lowe’s Frugal tip. Well I love Home Depots colors more than Lowe’s. There are more shades, better organized, and easier to compare. Great right? Wrong. Home Depot’s Behr line does not make small can samples. So I found myself drawn to Lowe’s Valspar line. Turns out when I took my Home Depot samples to Lowe’s they could look it up on something called Fanbook samples and get the exact COLOR match. The exact mixture of color like Home Depot except they sell it in 4 oz samples for $3.99! SCORE!!! By the way, Lowe’s also can do Benjamin Moore, Dunns, and I can’t remember what other brands. But consider checking them out if you are looking for small paint sample cans.
As I mentioned I’m painting our house and I can’t decide on colors. I’m about to admit something veyr non-frugal, I’ve bought thus far 12 sample cans of paint. I have been trying out multiple colors all over the house. But it’s more frugal than buying a pint or quart elsewhere for 2x the price. So I hope this tip helps!

I think that buying the cans of sample paint is wise because you’re not buying a roomful of paint and then changing it over and over again because the color isn’t working for you. If you can’t find a project for your paint samples, maybe you can donate it. If you have a Habitat for Humanity near you they might have a Restore - it’s a building supply thrift store where you can donate (and buy) extra home improvement supplies.
