$5 savings = $12000

August 9th, 2008 · No Comments · Frugal, Savings

Saving $5 adds up.  According to Marie Franklin she saved $12k in 3 years by saving every $5 that passed through her hands!  Wow, that’s a lot of $5 bills.  2400 – $5 bills actually.  That means she saved on average $4k/year!  That means she saved  $11/day or on average 2 – $5 a day!

Wow.  I am really impressed by her savings savvy!  Pretty great trick to be able to save.  I don’t think I could stash $10/day but maybe $1.  Of course we could automate it, but would you miss $4k at the end of the year?  I think I might.

But as the article says she’s naturally frugal because now that she has all this money she doesn’t want to spend it.  So I wonder if we all could be this frugal?  Maybe we should try?
