This is a fantastic month for us in our retirement accounts.  We finished our 2008 Roth IRA contributions.  So between our $10k contribution to our Roth IRA and our standard 401k contributions we increased our retirement portfolio to $93104.  I think we should break $100k I am guessing by the end of the year for sure, hopefully sooner.  In a little over 3 years we went from $0 to $100k in retirement savings.  Not too shabby!

My family is visiting for 1 week starting today.  I will be publishing guest posts and writing a bit ahead.  Also I will probably be spending an extra $200 on gas this month, and eating out I am guessing $400 for this week.  It’s my grandmother’s 80th birthday and we’ll be going out to a nice meal.  Plus I already spent $75 on wine for the weekend, and we will be smoking ribs and grilling salmon which I haven’t bought yet.

Visitors always wreck havoc on a budget.  But it’s fun havoc and it while it’s expensive I am so happy they are visiting.  This will be my grandmother’s first and only trip to see me.
